Jutarat Kongpet presented her research findings at the 56th Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH) Conference in Thailand this month. The conference theme, Public Health Challenges in a Disruptive World, inspired an array of presentations across disciplines. The conference was organised by the Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health and hosted by the School of Health Science, Mae Fah Luang University, Chiang Rai, Thailand.
Jutarat shared findings on Southeast Asian migrant children’s health communication needs, reflecting on the importance of delivering health information in child-appropriate ways (e.g., considering language, tone, pace), and on engaging children more in health communication. Overall findings provide fundamental information to effectively improve health information delivery in real-world practices for these ethnic minority groups in Aotearoa New Zealand.
