A new systematic review led by Dr Yijun Zhang has shown mostly positive associations between neighbourhood greenspace and adolescents’ physical activity.
The article was published in the Landscape and Urban Planning journal and is freely available here: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0169204625002051
Five databases were searched using relevant keywords for articles published from 1980 onwards. Fourteen articles were included, and all studies that measured actual greenspace exposure using global positioning systems data showed significant positive correlation with adolescents’ moderate-to-vigorous physical activity. The review was co-authored by theme members Dr Jinfeng Zhao and Professor Melody Smith
